Eleanor E. Burden, age 84, of Canton, and formerly of Alliance, died at her home at 7:20 p.m. Aug. 19, 2004.
She was born December 16, 1919 in Marlboro, Ohio to John and Viola (Miller) Rhoads and lived most of her life in the Alliance area.
Mrs. Burden graduated from the former Atwater High School, and was the Secretary and former Co-Owner of Burden Electric.
She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Tom) Tiegler of Chicago, Il, and Beverly (Charles) Anderson of N. Canton, Oh., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother Don (Ruby) Rhoads of Limaville, and one sister Betty Locker of Steubenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn E. Burden, whom she married April 30, 1941, and who died April 18, 1999, two sons David Lee Burden and Richard K Burden, four brothers Glenn, Dale, John and Shyrl Rhoads, and one sister, Bernice Combs.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth D. Price officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
