Elizabeth A. Albright, age 98, of Louisville, passed away at 7:27 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Oakhill Manor.
She was born May 29, 1917, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Jacob and Sudie (Coss) Meinzen.
Elizabeth graduated from Alliance High School and Kent State University. She was a teacher at Lexington Elementary School for 18 years.
A charter member of the Beechwood Christian Church, Elizabeth was a member of Alliance Teachers Association, charter member of Mended Hearts of Alliance, past matron of Homeworth Eastern Star, Red Cross volunteer and 20-year volunteer at Alliance City Hospital. She was an old car enthusiast and loved cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her daughters, Sally Rodgers of Canton, Nancy (Larry) Shinn of Winfield, Pennsylvania, Kay (Phil) Burgi of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Carol (Lou) Mineweaser of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Mary (Tom) Swartz of Louisville; her sons, David (Kathy) Albright of Peoria, Arizona and Don (Jo) Albright of Minerva; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest Albright, whom she married June 15, 1940 and who passed away September 14, 2009; three sisters, Virginia Brady, Melva Pinkerton and Alice Mikes; and four brothers, Charles, Raymond, William and Thomas Park.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor David Parry officiating.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Beechwood Christian Church with Pastor Mark Black officiating.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Crossroads Hospice for their compassion and care given to Elizabeth.
