Elizabeth "Beth" Johnson, age 53, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at her home.
She was born September 18, 1957 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Tom and Sally (Eaton) Johnson.
A 1975 graduate of Marlington High School, Beth received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1979 from Malone College. Miss Johnson taught Health and Physical Education for Alliance Public Schools, at the Middle School and Alliance High School, for thirty years, before retiring in 2010.
Beth formerly was the Head Varsity Volleyball and Girls Basketball Coach at Alliance High School. She enjoyed golfing and following her favorite sports teams.
Beth was a member of Alliance First Friends Church, and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her parents, Tom and Sally Johnson of Alliance; three brothers, Greg (Cyndie) Johnson of Sidney, Ohio, Steve (Mary) Johnson of Hilliard, Ohio, and Jeff Johnson, of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Lisa (Kenny) Smith, of Alliance; and nieces and nephews, Erin and Molly Johnson, Abby and Matthew Johnson, Jeremy and Corey Noll, Kelby and Jeffrey Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home Dr. Edward Mitchell officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
