Ellen Bossong, age 94, of Alliance, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, at Aultman Hospital.
She was born Nov. 10, 1916 in Warrick County, Indiana to Joseph W. and Ethel E. (Coleman) Carter.
Ellen graduated with a degree in Engineering from Purdue University.
She was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, where she was a daily communicant. Ellen enjoyed traveling with her late husband, especially taking cruises and going to the South Pacific, Artic, and Antartic.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law Betsy Bossong of Pittsburgh PA, and Betty Carter of CA; brother-in-law, John Bossong of Chicago, IL; and dear friends Barb and Doug Lockhart of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Bossong, whom she met at Purdue; her daughter, Peggy; and her brother, Bill Carter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August, 18, 2011, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, with Fr. Howard Ziemba officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
