Ellen Lou "Tibby" Clark, age 68 of Alliance, died at 2:15 p.m. April 24, 2006 at Green Meadows Care Center in Louisville.
She was born May 18, 1937 in Alliance, Ohio to Alice L. (Hopkins) and Seth Borton. A 1956 graduate of Alliance High School, Tibby graduated from the Canton Police Academy and worked as a Court Reporter for Judge John A. Thomas and Judge Jack Gwinn before going to work for the Alliance Police Department.
She worked as a Dispatcher, Police Officer, Detective and Administrative Coordinator to the Chief of Police until July 1, 1998.
She was a member of the Alliance Believers Center, the AARP and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #73.
Survivors include two daughters, Melinda M. (Russell) Angel of Canton and Wendy S. (Blaine) Lewis of Alliance; three nieces, two nephews, three grand-nephews, one granddaughter, Heather (Bob) Brumbaugh of Mandan, North Dakota; and one sister-in-law, Bobby Borton of Massillon.
Ms. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John R. Borton, sister, Sara K. Planchard, and her baby brother; Seth H. Borton.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Brother Harvey Mehaffie officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. A F.O.P. Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
