Ellen V. Porch

Ellen Virginia Porch, age 87, of Alliance, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. 

She was born on July 15, 1937 in Seminole, WV, to Palmer F. and Alma M. (Lucas) Nuzum.

Ellen attended Clarksburg public school in West Virginia and went on to work for many years at the Big Lots in Alliance, retiring in 2005. Ellen then worked for 10 years at Queen’s China in Sebring as a foreman. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and reading to her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; David (Daisy), Chris and Phil (Tonya) Blankenship; and siblings, Betty Hunt, Minerva Wortham, and Howard Nuzum.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur E. Porch, whom she married on June 13, 1975 and who passed away on March 3, 1993; daughter, Ellen Blankenship; and siblings, Thelma Shaw, Gladys Yates, John Nuzum, Junior Nuzum, Eugene Nuzum, Herman Nuzum, Goldie Douglass and Harold Nuzum. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 11, 2024 at the chapel at Highland Memorial Park.
