Ellen Mae Wallace, age 85, of Homeworth, Ohio, died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born February 27, 1925, in Homeworth to Floyd and Opal (Keister) Wallace.
Ellen was a graduate of Minerva High School and Canton Business College. She was employed at McCaskey Register, Midland Buckeye Savings and Loan, Bill Hoover's Construction and Murphy's Excavating.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown.
Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family, going on vacation to the New York World's Fair, California, Hawaii and many trips to Disney with her family. She loved babysitting her nieces, nephews and extended family
Survivors include her sisters, Betty Wallace of Homeworth and Ruth Ann Haynam of Davis, Ca.; nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved, Karen McCallum McMaster, Ronnie Lee Wallace, Sheryl Wallace Dean, Dann Haynam, David Haynam, Lori Wallace and David McCallum; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great niece, as well as many cousins whom were as close to Ellen as brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marjorie McCallum and Kenneth Wallace
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Carolyn Wagar Hier officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 27485 Main St., North Georgetown, Ohio 44665.
