Elmer Junior Hardy

Elmer Junior Hardy, age 71, of Beloit passed away at 2:45 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at his home.
He was born August 30, 1944 in Salem to Elmer L. and Alice D. (Kraft) Hardy.
A 1963 graduate of West Branch High School, Elmer was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and he drove for Tauro Bros. Trucking in Girard for over 40 years before his retirement.
He was a member and past commander of the George D. Worth American Legion Post 574, Elmer was also a former Knox Township cemetery sexton, coach for the Sebring/West Branch Hot Stove League, and he enjoyed fishing and tractor pulls. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother; his wife Lynn (Brown) Hardy whom he married June 1, 1968; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Dyke of Berlin Center and their son, Lucas; son Ronald Hardy of Beloit and his children, Allyson and Brandon; son, Robert Hardy of Beloit; son and daughter-in-law, James and Kristen Hardy of Alliance and their son, Jacob; brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Hardy of Atwater; sisters, Joyce (Don) Ray of Aurora, Colorado, Diana (Jack) Woods of Atwater, Shirley (Clay) Vernon of Beloit, Terrie Hippely of San Antonio, Florida and Karen (Dale) Karlen of Salem; and many nieces and nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by his father.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
