Elmer Paul Tosha, age 82, of Alliance died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born November 1, 1925 in Alliance to Lewis and Caroline (Wolkan) Tosha.
Elmer was a 1944 graduate of Alliance High School and served as an 82nd airborne paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Regina Coeli Catholic Church since the age of 25. Elmer was employed as a machine shop maintenance foreman while at B and W Tubular Products for over 40 years.
Elmer was a member of the K of C Post #558 and the North Georgetown American Legion Post #57. He loved gardening and traveling and above all being with his family.
He is survived by his wife Doris A. (Davis) Tosha of Alliance whom he married April 13, 1946; two daughters, Denise Smith of East Sparta and Cynthia Studt of Broadview Heights; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bruce Wayne Williford in 1996 and an infant son, Gerald Paul Tosha; grandson, Brandon Williford in 1996; sisters, Ann Kleptach of North Industry, Marie Duruttya and Helen Edwards, both of Alliance; brothers, Julius Tosha, Lewis Tosha, and Alfred Tosha of Cucamunga, CA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance, Ohio. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
