Elva May (Rosenberger) Johnson, age 91, of Alliance, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Community Care Center.
She was born December 16, 1920 in Paris, Ohio to Homer and Celesta (Petre) Rosenberger and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and associated with the family farm. She attended Freeburg School, was a member of Beechwood United Methodist Church for many years, Washington Township Farm Women's Club and was an advisor for the Mudlake Beavers 4-H club for many years. Elva enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and quilting.
She is survived by four sons, Lowell (Gretchen), Jerry, Richard (Connie) and Edgar Johnson, all of Alliance; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Ray Rosenberger, of North Canton, and sister-in-law, Lois Arnold, of Sunrise, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Lavern Johnson, whom she married May 15, 1936, and who died Sept. 24, 1983. Also preceding her was 1 sister and 4 brothers.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7-9pm also at the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home.
