Elvira "Sis" (Eberhard) Leister, age 95, of Alliance, died at 2:04 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born November 4, 1917, in Rossmoyne, Ohio to Edward and Frances (Alexander) Eberhard.
A 1935 graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. Leister was a member of First Christian Church, the Alliance Country Club, member and past president of the Alliance Woman's Club, member of Order of Eastern Star, former board member of Interfaith Day Care, former member of the Alliance Hospital Auxiliary, PTA, Sub-Debs, and enjoyed playing bridge and playing golf.
Survivors include her son, Craig (Susan) Leister of Columbus, Ohio and Spring Island, SC; daughter-in-law, Belinda "BJ" (Sheffield) Leister; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Sis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack S. Leister, whom she married May 11, 1935, and who died June 12, 2007, son, Jack Leister Jr., brother, Edward Eberhard, sister-in-law, Rhea Eberhard, sister, Elizabeth Turkle, and brother-in-law, Ted Turkle.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance Ohio.
