Emil M. Mille, age 81 of Alliance, devoted husband, father and grandfather, went to meet his Lord at 12:04 p.m. April 18th at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born July 15, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Maria Mille and lived in Stark County for more than fifty years, moving from Hartville to Alliance twenty years ago. Mr. Mille was the Head Custodian for Plain Local Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Alliance and did missionary work in the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making, in addition to traveling around the world.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Mille served in the Signal Corps in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Owen) Mille, whom he married Aug. 18, 1951, daughter, Debbie Mille (Lance Warner) of Rossford, Ohio, granddaughter Allison, great-granddaughter, Isabelle, his favorite and most special great-grandchild; son, Eric (Christine) Mille of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and grandson Ben and granddaughter Emily; daughter, Cathy Mille of Las Cruces, New Mexico and grandson Matthew (Shelby), presently serving active duty in the U.S. Navy, granddaughter, Stephanie, and two nephew, Clyde Zarkos of New Jersey and Art Zarkos of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John; and one sister, Anna Zarkos.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
