Emma E. Fox, age 92 of Marlboro, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at her home.
She was born August 3, 1917 in Alliance to Fred and Caroline (Yarian) Ringwald and was a resident of Marlboro since 1938.
Mrs. Fox was a member of Science Hill Community Church. She was a 4-H Advisor for 15 years and received state honors for needlepoint and counted cross stitch. She was a school bus driver for the Marlboro and Marlington School Districts for 17 years.
She enjoyed playing cards, checkers and assembling jigsaw puzzles with her family. Another of her favorite pastimes was feeding and watching the birds and squirrels.
Mrs. Fox is survived by one son, Gordon (Jo) Fox, of Marlboro; three daughters, Marilyn (Dale) Montgomery, and Joyce (Louis) Quinn, both of Marlboro, and Evelyn Neiswonger of Canton; eight grandchildren, Betty (John) George, Lori Robertson, Gary (Christy) Montgomery, Brian Quinn, Jill (Scott) Young, Bret Neiswonger, Kelly (Jack) Squire, and Ashley Fox; and nine great-grandchildren, Kara and Kacy Robertson, Tyler and Adam George, Nicole and Megan Montgomery, Christopher and Brandon Young and Justin Gandee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Gaylord D. Fox whom she married June 9, 1938 and who died April 16, 2004; two brothers, Fredrick and Joseph Ringwald; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Neiswonger.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Ave. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
