Emma Augusta Hilles, age 95, of Alliance, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Canterbury Villa.
She was born October 25, 1913 in Alliance, Ohio to Edward M. and Clara (Munter) Lincke. A graduate of Alliance High School, Emma had been employed by the former G. C. Murphy Co. in Alliance.
She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church; former member of BPOE # 467 Auxiliary and volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drives.
She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, being a homemaker, and was a great cook.
Survivors are her sons, Paul A. (Patricia) Hilles of Indio, California, and R. Patrick (Sylvia) Hilles of Alliance; three grandchildren, Sharron, Michael and Kimberly; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur H. Hilles, whom she married Dec. 29, 1934, and who died April 2, 1978; and three brothers.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Private Graveside Services, with interment to follow, will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park with Pastor Hoyte Wilhelm officiating.
