Eric R. Franken, age 53, of North Benton, embarked on a new journey January 2, 2015.
He was born July 31, 1961, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Robert J. and Julia M. (Cheiffo) Franken.
Eric graduated from Western Reserve High School and was employed by the Mahoning County Engineer's Office for 25 years.
He was a member of the Sebring Country Club, Teamsters, and the SAAB Club, as well as being a SAAB enthusiast and collector.
Eric touched so many people's lives with his generosity, kindness and sincerity and never asked for anything in return. He was a strong man who lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by so many.
He is survived by his loving sister, Pamela Franken; and sister-in-law, Tamara Kendrick of Columbus, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Cort.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Eric's Life at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Heritage Oaks Banquet Center, along with his interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Youngstown on February 2, 2015 at 11 a.m.
