Esmond E. Fogle, age 86, of Alliance, passed away at 8:42 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013, at Community Care Center.
He was born October 13, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, to John and Ruth (Scott) Fogle.
A graduate of Wadsworth High School and Mount Union College, he remained very active with Sigma Nu Fraternity and the University.
He was past president of Robertson Heating Supply, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
A member and deacon at First United Presbyterian Church, Esmond was also former board member of the Rodman Public Library, YMCA, Alliance Federal Savings and Loan, and past president of American Supply Association.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Bickford) Fogle, whom he married March 25, 2000; seven children, Eric Rutledge, Beth (Dan) Ray, Tom (Martha) Fogle, Chris (Patricia) Fogle, Gretchen (Ed) Wearstler, David Fogle and Bill (Linda) Fogle; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Barbara) Fogle; and six nieces and nephews.
Esmond was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Dawn Fogle, second wife, Joyce Leslie Fogle; sons, Ralph and Bob Rutledge; and sister, Genevie Renner.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Marty CashBurless officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Mount Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance YMCA, 205 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601 or to Rodman Public Library, 215 E. Broadway St. Alliance, OH 44601.
