Eugene W. Hawthorne

Eugene W. Hawthorne, age 87, of Homeworth, passed away at 6:04 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born April 19, 1928, in Richman, Ohio, to Walter A. and Elizabeth (Kugler) Hawthorne.
A member of Pine Lake Christian Church, Gene worked for 37 years as a machine operator at Sancap. He also enjoyed colleting Tonka trucks, rebuilding old tractors and farming.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Mercer) Hawthorne who he married on December 22, 1988; his son, Mark Hawthorne; daughter, Susie (Dave) Farnsworth, both of Homeworth; nine grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; step-daughter, Barbara Jackson; step-son, Chris Stieb; and sister-in-law, Christine Gehret. .
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Hawthorne and sister, June Hawthorne.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.

Sebring, OH, 44672 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
