Eugenia Casseday

Eugenia V. "Genie" Casseday age 80 of Salem, and formerly of Alliance died at 5:37 a.m. Monday Dec. 22 at Salem Community Hospital.
She was born November 7, 1923 in Terra Alta, West Virginia to Ercil F. and Hilda V. (Pentony) Casseday, and lived for over 50 years in Alliance. She attended West Virginia University, and worked for 37 ? years in Public Relations with Ohio Edison, retiring in 1984.
A member of First United Presbyterian Church, she was a former choir member, Sunday school treasurer and lay reader. She was also a former member of Quota and past vice president, former volunteer for the Domestic Violence Shelter and former member of Womens Division of Chamber of Commerce, Alliance Community Hospital Volunteers, Foundation Board, former vice president of the hospital auxiliary, and YMCA member, Ohio Edison Retirees Club. She was also active in Carnation City Players and Alliance Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include two brothers, Roger Casseday of Newbury, Ohio and Ercil Casseday of Alliance, and several nieces and nephews, Connie, Dan, Randy, Terry, Patrick and their families.
Ms.Casseday was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. William Sadler officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Quota Services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
