Evelyn Lee Wachsmuth

Evelyn Lee (Rardon) Wachsmuth, age 84, of Homeworth, went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2022.

She was born on August 15, 1937 in Massillon to Orville C. and Clytice A. Rardon.  They moved to Alliance when she was 2 years old and she lived in the area all her life. Lee graduated from Alliance High School in 1955 and married Gerhard F. Wachsmuch in June, 1956. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville.

Lee started her career in banking in January 1979 with First Federal Savings and Loan. It later became First American, then Charter One Bank, from which she retired in January 1997. Lee then worked part time for Dr. F.K. Peters in his Louisville dental office for 12 years until 2009. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her daughter and family to the Bahamas, Niagara Falls, North Carolina Beaches and more. Lee was the pianist at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for a time, and then moved to First Baptist Church of Louisville, where she also played the piano for several years. She truly loved her retirement years as they gave her more time to spend with family, read, enjoy her computer and her companion cat of many years, Angel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter and son-in-law Heidi and Sorin Muica; three precious grandchildren, Stephen, Adrian and Melody Muica all of Massillon; three nieces, Maureen Smith of Alliance, Kristy (Tom) Corkran of Lynchburg, VA and Jenny (David) Mapes of Riverton, CT; one nephew, Bruce Hoppes of South Carolina; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerhard in October 2007; her son, David Karl Wachsmuth in July 2007; sister, Miriam Shannon; half-sister, Lucille Hoppes; half-brother, Cecil P. Rardon; and nephew, Douglas Shannon in October 2013.

A remembrance service will be held at Star in the East Congregation, 4120 Martindale Rd NE Canton, Ohio 44705 on Sunday, April 24th at 3:00 p.m.
