Evelyn L. Walker, 86, of Alliance, passed away on Monday July 21, 2008 at Aultman Hospital.
Evelyn was born July 11, 1922 in Ravenna, Ohio to Harold and Lucerne (Stump) Frank. She was a graduate of Alliance High School and was manager at Lawsons Convenience Store retiring in 1974 after 14 years of service.
Evelyn was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, music, singing, sewing, and making quilts for family members. She was also a member of the Fairmont Literary Society.
She is survived by her daughters Judith Valentine of Minerva, OH, Joyce (Robert) Buchanan of Limaville, OH, Jean (Gary) Liber of North Canton, OH; son John (Nondis) Walker of Massillon, OH. Evelyn has 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother Richard (Mary) Frank of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and sister Betty Blizzard of Akron, OH; brother-in-laws, Harold Walker of Charlottesville, VA and Robert McGirr of Hartville, OH; and sister-in-law Stella Frank of Doylestown, OH. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Paul Walker whom she married on August 22, 1942; grandson Wayne Allen Teeters; and brother Robert Frank
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday July 25, 2008 at Cassaday- Turkle- Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio. Pastor Terry Baltzer of Lexington United Methodist Church and Aaron Walker, grandson, will officiate the service. Friends may call from 10- 11 a.m. Friday with burial at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.
Family requests memorial contributions to the Lexington United Methodist Church, 15035 Greenbower Road Alliance, OH.
