Everett Ray Taylor went to sleep in death Tuesday, November 23rd in Pell City, Alabama, following an extended illness.
Ray was the son of Everett and Cora Taylor; born August 11th, 1950, in Alliance, Ohio. He was the youngest son of nine children.
Ray was a 1968 graduate of Alliance High School where he played basketball for three years. He worked for General Motors in Detroit, Massillon City Schools, Akron Beacon Journal, Canton Repository and for Adesa in Moody, Alabama.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Goosby, Eric Taylor and sister, Rolene Goosby.
Ray is survived by his wife, Veronica Swann Young Taylor and by his former wife, Anita Dixon, their two children, Jason and Amia Taylor; two step children, Tomiko and Ty Shane Young; sixteen grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Dear Uncle Donald Taylor of Alliance, Ohio, brothers, Tom (Lovette) Goosby of Akron, Ohio, Rick (Doris) Taylor of East Canton, Ohio; sisters, Patrica Oden of Milan, Tennessee, Karen Luzier of Detroit, Michigan and Kimberly (Missy) Rogers of Alliance, Ohio.
Memorial services will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 2 p.m. Memorial Discourse will be by Mike Stovall.
