Fern Smith

Fern M. Smith, age 88, of Homeworth died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Community Care Center.
She was born September 22, 1924, in Westville, Ohio to Merlin and Anna (Teeters) Kimes.
Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the North Georgetown First Brethren Church. She was also a former member of the Farm Bureau and Alliance Senior Bowling leagues.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Charlie) Gearling of Barnesville, Ohio and Susan (H. Lee) Johnson of Beloit; sons, Dennis (Malissa) Smith of Homeworth and Delmar (Tracy) Smith of Beloit; grandchildren, Michelle, Greg, Heather, Micah, Miranda, Joel, and Ashley; seven step-grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren with another due in August; sister, Betty (Harold) Brechbill of E. Canton; and brother, Kenneth (Betty) Kimes of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin; sisters, Velma Ramsayer and Helen Smith; brother, Walter Kimes and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald W. Waters officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
