Florence A. Allison, age 84 of Alliance, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2005 at Salem Community Hospital.
She was born December 15, 1920 in Alliance, Ohio to Frank and Alta (Pickens) Peet and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Allison graduated from Alliance High School and Mount Union College. She was a Music Teacher for 30 years for Marlington Schools. She then taught at Mount Union College for 20 years, until her retirement.
She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, where she served as the Choir Director from 1952 to 1986, after serving as the Organist at First United Presbyterian Church. She taught numerous piano students throughout her life.
She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, Mu Phi Epsilon, Post Script and Alliance Music Study Club.
She is survived by her son, Richard F. Allison, his wife, Chrisy Mecey, and step-granddaughter Montgomery, all of Leslie, Michigan, and one sister, Mary Chapman, of North Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Donald R. Allison, who died Feb. 19, 1988.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Ruggles officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Alzheimer's Disease Foundation.
