Flossie Logsdon Dobbs McKimmie, age 86, of Alliance, died at 10:09 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009 at her home.
She was born March 6, 1923 in Cameron, West Virginia to James W and Adelia M. (Richter) Logsdon and was an Alliance resident since 1959.
Mrs. McKimmie was a graduate Chicago Illinois School of Nursing in 1960 and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley, West Virginia.
She is survived by her son Harold E. "Woody" (Joann) Dobbs of Beloit; sister, Roxie (Walter) Dobbs of Moundsville, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Edwin Ray Dobbs. Jr. & Edwina Dobbs, six great-grandchildren, Nicklaus, Elizabeth, Jasmin, Donavon, Connor and Nancy Jo Dobbs.
Mrs. McKimmie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd R. McKimmie, whom she married August 29, 1953 and who died February 7, 2005; brothers, Judd, Dennis, Jim, Harley and Joseph; sisters, Letta and Daisy; and a son, Edwin Dobbs; and one granddaughter, Elaine Dobbs.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday March 12, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Bryant officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
