Forest M. Holsopple, age 76, of Alliance died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born December 14, 1931 in Lexington Township to Russell and Bernadette (Himes) Holsopple and was a life long resident. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Forest was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and received a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a technician at Babcock and Wilcox for 22 years, member of the 20 year club at Babcock and Wilcox and a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed woodworking and was known as a handyman, making a variety of different items.
Forest was the best father a person could ask for and is survived by his sons, Mark Holsopple of Daytona, Fla., John (Lois) Holsopple and Kevin Holsopple, of Alliance; daughter, Kimberly Qualk of Mt. Clare, WV; six grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Ashley and Jordan Holsopple, and Steven and Samantha Qualk; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alicia and Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marie Mae Colvin Holsopple, whom he married December 24, 1949 and who died December 27, 2003; and a brother Robert Holsopple.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Andrews of Greentown United Methodist officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
