Frances H. Sanker, age 89 of Granbury, Texas and formerly of Homeworth, Oh, and Dubois Pa., died Aug. 1, 2006 at Granbury Villa in Granbury, Texas.
She was born Jan. 8, 1917 in Chestnut Grove, Pennsylvania to Frank and Louella (Smith) Hartzfeld and lived in Homeworth before residing in Texas.
Mrs. Sanker went to school in Dubois, Pa., and was employed as a Secretary by Pa. and Ohio school systems.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alliance.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary (Vernon) Neiss of Canton; one son, Frank (Carol) Sanker of Dallas, Tx.; one grandson, Bill Defendiefer of Cincinnati, Oh; three granddaughters, Lisa Defendiefer of Columbus, Ashley Hansen of West Lake, Tx, and Tiffany Evans of South Lake, Tx.; four great-granddaughters, Anna Defendiefer of Cincinnati, Emma Hansen of West Lake, Lily Hansen of West Lake, and Ellie Evans of South Lake; and two great-grandsons, Adam Defendiefer of Cincinnati, and Ethan Evans of South Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis Sanker, whom she married in Oct. 1940, and who died Sept. 9, 1998; one daughter, Sylvia Sanker, four brothers, and two sisters.
A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Chestnut Grove, Pa. with Rev. Arlene Beechert officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
