Frances Springer

Frances L. Springer, age 82 of Alliance, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday January 26, 2005 at McCrea Manor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Springer was born Nov. 3, 1922 to Arthur and Ethel Hall, and lived in Alliance most of her life.
She graduated from Alliance High School, attended Mount Union College, and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Kent State University.
Mrs. Springer taught elementary education and special education in the Marlington School District until retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, O.E.S. Chapter 296 and formerly served as Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the Alliance Woman's Club, Alliance Area Republican Club, Alliance Senior Citizens Center, National Education Association, and the B.P.O.E. #467 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Benson F. Springer, whom she married Feb. 14, 1944, two sons, Lee (Paula) Springer of Alliance, and Marc Springer of Alliance, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arthur.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Hookway officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday. Eastern Star Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
