Francis E. Hudson Jr., a veteran of the United States Army and a child of God passed away on February 15, 2022, surrounded by love.
Francis, also known as Gene by some, was born in Alliance, Ohio in 1936 to Francis E. Sr. and Evelyn (Murphy) Hudson.
He attended and graduated from Alliance High School. He was an ER, SP4 rank in the United States Army. Francis was stationed in Korea after the war during peace time relations. There he became friends with the locals and learned to value them, and respect their culture. After active duty, the U.S. Honorably recognized him for his additional service as an enlisted Army Reservist until 1962. Francis proudly served his country and did his duties as an American Citizen to protect and keep its Freedoms for the rest of his life.
He was an active member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Francis retired from General Motors where he was a Tool and Die Maker. He loved to read, learn, garden, fish, and hunt. He once had a 300 bowling game in a tournament. He was a humble golfer who always acknowledged the skills of his opponents. He was an honest person.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; only brother, Richard Hudson; wife, Marilyn; three stepchildren, Steve, Gary and Mary Grim; his son, Michael Hudson; daughter, Theresa Hudson (Grimm); granddaughter, Kendra.
He is survived by son, John Hudson; daughters, Rachel and Kimberly Hudson; adopted granddaughter, Ashley Farrar ( Trent); beautiful nieces; amazing grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park Chapel on Friday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. to honor Francis's life and military service. Funeral will be officiated by Rev. James Pitsenberger.
