Frank D. Cox, age 84, of Alliance, passed away on October 2, 2022.
He was born on May 5, 1938 in Yancey County, North Carolina to David R. Cox Sr. and Mae (Miller) Cox.
Frank worked at Transue and Williams Stamping Plant as the head millwright for over 50 years until his retirement. He served honorably as a sharpshooter in the United States Army from 1961-1963 and received a good conduct medal. Frank was a member of the VFW, the VA and the Good Sams Club Chapter 50. He enjoyed camping, target shooting, woodworking, and watching western movies.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Cox, whom he married July 3, 1965; his children, Krista (Jim) Cox-Williams and David (Jamie) Cox Sr.; six grandchildren, Amanda Reikowski, Davey (Brittany) Cox Jr, Kali Williams, Caden Williams, Megan (Josh) Harbert, Ashley (Kyle) Hennis; twelve great-grandchildren, Savannah, Alex, Jasmine, Emma, Gage, Chloe, Beau, Sophia, Austin, Riley, Caroline, and Alyssa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faye; two brothers, David R. Cox Jr. and John H. Cox; Sherril Miller; and a grandchild, Jimmy Williams.
Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, October 7th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Dickerhoof officiating.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
