Frank Harold Denny, age 92, of Damascus, went home to Heaven after his final suffering, at 4:26 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born October 15, 1919 in Salem, Ohio to Leroy and Bertha (Althouse) Denny.
A self employed dairy farmer for many years, Frank never lost his love for farming. He formerly worked at Purity Dairy before retiring from Butler and Knox Townships as a foreman. After retiring, he was blessed to spend ten years working with his grandson, Larry, on the farm.
A member of Damascus Friends Church, he served as a past trustee, usher and greeter for many years. He was a member of the finance committee, Men in Missions, and Farm Bureau.
Other hobbies include gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Bardo) Denny, whom he married June 10, 1942; daughter, Louise J. Lautzenheiser of Damascus, son, David (Cheri) Denny of Salem; grandchildren, Lanette (Larry) Elasivich, Larry (Cindy) Lautzenheiser, Dale (Joy) Lautzenheiser, Marcie (Mark) Curry, and Philip (Laura) Denny; great-grandchildren, Jared, Cody, Mitch, Anissa, Ellie, Madison, Jesse, Anna, Julia, Leah, Luke, and Nathanael; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Orlan, John, Richard, and Raymond; and son-in-law, Dean Lautzenheiser.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor John Ryser officiating, with Pastor Rick Brendlinger assisting. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012. Interment will be at Damascus Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Damascus Friends Church.
