Frank Bryce Norton, age 86 of Alliance, died at 12:30 p.m. December 8, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital.
Mr. Norton was born March 6, 1918 in Topeka, Kansas to Dwight James and Julia (Regamy) Norton.
Mr. Norton attended Kansas University; his schooling was interrupted by WWII. Upon his return he completed his BS degree from the school of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
He worked for Goodrich Tire, General Tire and Firestone International. Besides Akron Ohio, he lived in Bombay, India, Monrovia, Liberia, Bogot?, Bogot?, Colombia, Pakistan and Iran. He subsequently taught business at Kent State University and Mount Union College.
Mr. Norton was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served as a Captain during W.W.II. He fought in the battles for Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima and was a member of the V.F.W. in Topeka, Kansas.
He fulfilled his duty to his country and his life dream of working overseas. Most of all he was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by two sons, Frank D. Norton of Stewart, Ohio, Gary L. Norton of Durango, Colorado, one daughter, Jennifer J. Hollings of Fairfield, Connecticut, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Genevieve, who died in 1984, his second wife, Margaret, in 1999, and one brother, Dwight.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
