Frank Schmidt

Frank A. Schmidt Jr. age 87 of Marlboro died at 2:55 p.m. after a short illness Saturday August 23, 2003 at Community Care Center.
He was born in Akron, July 18, 1916 to Frank A. Sr. and Eva (Kramer) Schmidt and was a lifelong Marlboro resident.
A graduate of Marlboro High School, he started as a brick mason and contractor. He then was employed by the State of Ohio Liquor Control Board and retired as Chief Building Inspector for Stark County. Frank was a Marlboro volunteer fireman, a member of Marlboro Lions Club and enjoyed playing tennis with his wife, camping, traveling to Florida and spending his spare time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Trump) Schmidt, whom he married Feb. 14, 1939, a daughter Pamela (Eugene) Kastner, grandchildren Rob, Heidi, Tanya, Sujeh, Soul, and Berta Kastner, 2 great-grandchildren all of Arizona, a daughter Karen Schmidt of Canton, son Richard (Becky) Schmidt, grandchildren Tyler, Ashley Schmidt of Marlboro, a sister Ann Shilliday of Dade City Florida.
His parents preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Price officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marlboro Cemetery.
