Frankie J. Allen

Frankie J. Allen, age 97, of Alliance, passed away at 9:10 a.m., Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Canterbury Villa.
She was born November 30, 1917, in Oka, West Virginia, daughter of James M. and Ella Louverine (Ellison) Moss. She came to Alliance in 1953 and lived here for many years before spending fifteen years in Georgia, then returning to Alliance ten years ago.
Her husband, John W. Allen whom she married in 1937, died in 1997.
Frankie had been employed as a manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry for several years and had also been an antique dealer for most of her life.
Survivors include her three children, son John W. Allen Jr. of Louisville; daughter, Ann Simmons Carpenter (T. Randall) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; her other son, Larry (Alice) Allen of Louisville: brother, Rondel Moss of Parkersburg, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and eight siblings.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with grandsons, Minister Josh Allen and Todd Allen officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2105 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
