Fred E. Skelley, age 70, died unexpectedly on the morning of July 28th, 2006 at his home. Fred spent most of the last few years battling his diabetic disorder and heart failure. Those who knew him couldn't help but love him and remember him as a very humorous man.
He was a dedicated churchman of Fellowship Baptist Church since the 1980's. Fred helped everyone and anyone in their time of need. He was indeed, a man of the Lord.
Fred was born Dec. 14, 1935 in Canton, Ohio to Fred and Mary (Hamlin) Skelley and graduated from Canton McKinley High School. He retired from Alliance Public Schools after working in food service.
Fred is survived by his wife Joy L.(Hartong) McAdow-Skelley, whom he married Feb. 12, 1996; one brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Skelley of Louisville, three sisters, Carol Bailey of Az., Kathryn Bird of Nv., and Peggy (Bob) Muller of SC; two sons, Skip (Barbara) Skelley of Canton, and Stephen (Joyce) Skelley of Fla.; one daughter, Susan Tucker of Ky;, many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter Sherry.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor James White officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
