Fred A. "Freddie" Jones

Fred A. Jones, age 79, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away at 9:17 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2018, at Mount Carmel East Hospital of Columbus.
He was born September 26, 1938, in Gilboa, West Virginia, to Ira Vernon and Katherine (Pierson) Jones.
Fred was a driver for Leaseway Transport in Lordstown, Ohio, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 377.
He attended Mount Zion Baptist Church while in Alliance and volunteered at Hope House. He was a very talented woodworker and carpenter.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Gail (Jones) Knepp and husband, Jeffrey Scott of Pataskala, Ohio; grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua; his lovable cat, Bailey. His canine companion, Annie, followed Freddie shortly after his death.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie A. (Holley) Jones, whom he married December 22, 1962, and who died July 3, 2012; and his ten siblings, Elmo, Dennis, Bobby, Carl, Marie, Madge, Evelyn, Irene, Catherine and Gracie.
Services will be held at Noon, Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 to the time of the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
