Fred William Ziegler, age 78 of Alliance, died at his home at 8:35 p.m. Feb. 26, 2006.
He was born Oct. 4, 1927 in Alliance, Ohio to Fred William and Grace Edna (Hilbert) Ziegler and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Ziegler graduated in 1947 from Alliance High School and worked as a bricklayer for various construction companies until retiring. He was later a manager of the Moose Lodge in Alliance.
He was a member of Vine Street United Methodist Church. Fred was a 32 degree Mason with Conrad Masonic Lodge #271. He was a member of the Go-Jo Unit, Tadmor Temple, Alliance Shrine Club, American Legion Post 166, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers; and enjoyed fishing. He was also a U.S. Navy W.W.II veteran.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Jane (Mohr) Ziegler of Alliance, whom he married April 8, 1949; daughter, Sheryl Anne Rawlings, of Alliance; grandson, Christopher Jon Rawlings; great-granddaughter Chrissie Rawlings; sisters, Jane (Ralph) Nupp of Westminster, MD, Barbara (Bob) Miller of Maryville, TN, and Ruth Ann Dean of Massillon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; daughter, Karen Sue Ziegler; and grandson, Ralph Rawlings, Jr.
