Freda Benner, age 88, of Alliance passed away at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Bel-Air Care Center.
She was born November 1, 1928, in Homeworth, Ohio, to Alva and Dorothy (Conrad) Teeters and was a lifelong area resident.
Freda was a graduate of Alliance High School and of Euclid Academy of Beauty. She was co-owner of Mount Union Car Wash from 1970 to 1980 and Main Street Car Wash from 1970 to 1989. Freda was a member of First Christian Church.
She enjoyed bowling at the former Parkway Lanes and College Plaza Lanes in Alliance and was a Girl Scout leader in Homeworth. Freda enjoyed traveling to Florida in winters.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Bennett, of North Canton, and Linda (Tom) Hall of Alliance; son, Dick (Lee) Benner of Clancy, Montana; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beulah Freed and June Ely both of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lillian Wilson; sisters, Mildred Ream, Pearl Patla, and Grace Risden; and brothers, Carl and Donald Teeters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., February 10, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Phillips officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
