Freda Marie James of Alliance passed away February 24, 2016, at the age of 75, from complications after surgery at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born July 7, 1940, in Gassaway, West Virginia, the second of ten children, to parents Charles and Reva (Weese) Carpenter of Braxton County, West Virginia.
A mother and homemaker, Freda was the beloved mother of children, Rita (Mike) Tackett of Sutton, West Virginia, Sharon (Jim) Sears of Alliance, Anthony (Debbie) James of Sebring, William "Rob" (Rhonda) James of Alliance, Steve James of Sebring, and Primrose (Frank) Gatchell of Alliance; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Joe James; infant daughter, Kathy; and grandson, Anthony "Tony" James.
Freda attended the Alliance West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Being a woman of faith she firmly believed God's promises of a resurrection to a paradise on earth where there will be no pain, sorrow or Death. Rev. 21:4 and John 5:28-19.
One of her greatest joys came from being with her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
