Frederick P. "Fred" Hopkins, age 71 of Alliance, died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday Feb. 16, 2006 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born June 22, 1934 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Mack Hopkins and Winona (Ayres) Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins graduated from Alliance High School in 1952, attended Mount Union College, and served in the United States Army.
He attended the First Christian Church of Minerva, and retired in 1987 after working for the City of Alliance Water Department.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Marteney) Hopkins, whom he married April 19, 1970; one daughter, Mellanie Hopkins of Alliance; one brother, Mack Hopkins Jr. of Seattle, Washington; and a large extended family.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
