Gail T. Penny, age 74 of Alliance, died Sunday April 17, 2005 at Green Meadows Health Center.
He was born May 15, 1930 in Lisbon, Ohio to Harry and Nellie (Gunn) Penny and moved to Alliance in 1956.
Mr. Penny retired from Alliance Builders Supply, after working for 25 years.
He was a member of First Presybterian Church in Lisbon, the AMVETS, FOE of Alliance, American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and anything he did while he was working construction.
Mr. Penny was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the 82nd Airborne, Rangers 501 Battalion, having served from 1951 -1953.
Survivors include his children; Larry G. Penny of Alliance, Gary L. Penny of Alliance, Thomas E. Penny of Massillon, Kimberly K. Dillon of Alliance, Dianne L. Hoover of Salem, Patricia A. Loy of Alliance, Kevin L. Penny of Atwater, and Randy A. Penny of Alliance, nineteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his former spouse, Rita Mae Penny of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, a sister, one daughter, Tammy J. Scott, two sons, Jeffrey A. and Keith L., and two granddaughters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor James White of Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call one-half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
