Gale E. Williamson, age 78 of Alliance, passed away at 3:47 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center, with his family by his side.
He was born December 23, 1934 in St. Mary's, West Virginia to Paul and Marie (Fitzwater) Williamson.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Gale attended David Lipscomb Bible College and Mount Union College.
Gale was the founder and former owner of Williamson GMC Trucks, Midwest Auto Wrecking and Riverside Auto and formerly worked as an engineer at B&W Research Center.
A member of Tri-County Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, Gale enjoyed traveling, even piloting his trips, fishing, hunting, and camping. Most of all, Gale enjoyed being with his family, and spending time on his farm in southern Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Rochelle "Sue" (Stanfield) Williamson, whom he married July 21, 1956, son, Kim (Karen) Williamson, of Shawnee, OK, daughters, Tami (Dan) Murphy, and Lori Sox, both of Alliance, grandchildren, Danny, Scott, Stacy, Matthew, Jarid, Ryan, and Kendall; great-grandchildren, Justice, Clint and Isaac; brothers-in-law, Larry (Lynn) Stanfield, Terry (Carolyn) Stanfield, Robert (Mary Ann) Stanfield; sister-in-law, Linda Williamson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jude Williamson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Tri-County Church of Christ with Pastor Terry Kirsh officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County Church of Christ, 18900 State Rt. 62, Beloit OH 44609.
