Galen V. Ringer, age 87, of Sebring, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born May 31, 1923 in Louisville, Ohio, to Grover and Effie (Gehman) Ringer and was a lifelong area resident.
Galen graduated from Marlboro High School. A self employed farmer until the age of 40, he was then a lab technician at TRW in Minerva for 20 years. He was a member of Beechwood Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elta M. (Brown) Ringer, whom he married November 8, 1942; grandson, Marvin G. (Catherine) Ringer of Massillon; and brother, Virgil Ringer of New Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marvin G. Ringer; two sisters, Dorothy Fox and Thelma Goodenburger; and brother, Arthur Ringer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian
Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Higle of Beechwood Christian Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
