Garland T. Willis
Garland T. Willis age 63 of Beloit, died at 2:07 a.m. May 20, 2004 at Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born Oct. 17, 1941 in Sumrall, Mississippi to Jack Garlin & Bonnie (Tew) Willis.
Mr. Willis received his Associates Degree in General Studies from Kent State University. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101st and 82nd Airborne. Garland was a journeyman machinist and employed by the Disabled American Veterans as a hospital service coordinator for the past fifteen years.
He was of the Catholic Faith, a life member of Amvets Post #45, a member of American Legion North Georgetown Post #574, V.F.W. Post #6730, William McKinley Lodge #431 F & AM, and Salem Area Browns Backers Club.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Ann of Beloit, whom he married July 5, 1989, a son Garland T. (Tammy) Willis Jr. of Grand Saline, Texas, a daughter Beth (Thom) Andrusko of Clermont, Florida, a son Sgt. James E. (Marti) Willis, serving in Iraq, son Pvt. Billy M. Willis of Nashville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren; Jayme, Jackson, Brian, James, Annabelle, Michael & Caitlin, a step-daughter Carrie (Rick) Kossler of Birmingham, Alabama, a step son Donald (April) Jarvis of Vienna, Ohio, a step daughter Colleen (Angelo) Fakkas of Warren, Ohio, a step son Corey (Joyce) Jarvis of Canfield, eight step grandchildren; Carl, Amber, Joelle, Stephanie, Malina, Emanuel, Katie & Audrey, three step great grandchildren Grace, Mary & Alison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and Aunt Annie Lee MacDonald.
Services will be held at noon Monday May 24, 2004 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A D.A.V. service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
