Gary John Carlson

Gary John Carlson, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends, January 11, 2017, at his home in Alliance.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 28, 1946, to Clarence E. Carlson and Francis Marie (Mack) Carlson, he lived in Chesterfield, Michigan for most of his life. Upon his retirement he resided in Alliance, Ohio for 11 years.
Gary was a man of many talents from carpentry to motorcycle and side car racing. Gary was self-employed for 50 years in the carpentry trade, which upon retirement became a hobby.
He was a loving husband to his surviving wife, Sharon (Reinsel) Carlson; proud father of his children, Gary Carlson, Kelly (Carlson) Stevens, Michelle Mador and Tammi Madison; and his seven grandchildren.
Gary's desire to help others led him to donate his body to the Cleveland Clinic for Research.
A Celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, with a luncheon to immediately follow at Science Hill Community Church 12316 Beeson St. Alliance Ohio 44601.
