Gary Noble Greenamyer, age 85 of Alliance passed away on May 11, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center, after a year of declining health.
He was born December 26, 1936 on a small farm in Goshen Township, Salem, Ohio to Noble J. and Wanda (Campbell) Greenamyer.
He was educated in a one room school house and graduated from Mount Union College. He also studied voice at the Hanna School of Music in Youngstown, and was a well-known dramatic tenor.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Gary served in Army Intelligence.
Gary was the owner of Greenamyer Construction, with 25 years in Colorado, and 10 years in Utah, in addition to working for Harmon Killabrew.
He was well known for his timber frame and log homes, as he had been involved with the early pioneer stages of foam core panel construction and application used in many buildings today. He traveled from coast to coast, including Aspen/Vale, and Cornea, Colorado building timber frame homes.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Gary served in many capacities throughout his life.
In his retirement, he restored a 155 year old historic home in Alliance, were he, his wife and step-granddaughter lived; upon the doors of which hang mourning wreaths from his wife in his honor.
Gary, a father of eight children, was a sensitive person; anyone who ever knew him would say he was a man who lived up to his name, Noble.
He will be loved and missed by his family, including his wife, Carol (Mueller) Greenamyer, whom he married May 25, 2005; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Dauber of the home; step-daughter Jennifer Sedoris Smedley; two step-sons, step-granddaughters, Allison Essick (Nate, Elizabeth Dauber, Hannah Smedley; step-great-granddaughters, Natelee, Carlee Essick; step-great-grandson, Bryson Essick; four step-grandchildren; daughter, Maria Jory (Rick), son, James Greenamyer, daughters, Kerry Greenamyer, (Alex Hadian), Fiona Greenamyer, Jill Breyley (Justine), sons, Darren Greenamyer (Dawn), Gavin Greenamyer and Garth Greenamyer; granddaughters, Lelia Hadian and Emma Breyley; grandsons, Anthony and Brandon Esperza, Shawn Greenamyer, Bryce Greenamyer, Omid Hadian, Patric Greenamyer, and Collin Breyley; brother, Walter (Bonnie) Greenamyer, three step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Roger Greenamyer.
Gary will be laid to rest privately at Mount Union Cemetery.
