Gary L. Hoopes, age 49 of Alliance, passed away at his home on Wednesday Aug. 2, 2006.
He was born Aug. 24, 1956 in Salem, Ohio to Ramon and Velma (Caldwell) Hoopes and lived most of his life in Alliance.
Gary graduated from Marlington High School and Stark State College. He was President and Founder of GNW Aluminum in Alliance and was formerly employed by PTC in Alliance.
He was a member of the Faith Family Church in Canton, and the Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his father, Ramon of Clewiston, Fla.; his mother, Velma of Alliance; wife, Beatrice K. (Rohr) Hoopes, whom he married June 14, 1975; three sons, Nathan (Devon) Hoopes, of Alliance, Adam (Heather) Hoopes, of Alliance, and Keith Hoopes of the home; two granddaughters, Alexis Hoopes and Madison Hoopes; two sisters, Debbie (Lovell) Jones of Alliance, and Loeta Gibson of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Ray Hoopes.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Demetrios Mittas of the Faith Family Church officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
