Gary R. Rininger, age 70, of Alliance joined family and friends in heaven on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.
Born on January 12, 1951 to Paul and Viola (Shoop) Rininger, Gary lived in Alliance (Beechwood) and Cleveland, Ohio all his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Marlington High School, after which he continued his education at Mount Union College, Kent State University and Dartmouth University in New Hampshire. He was a member of Maximo Zion Church.
Gary worked in the Title Business for over 40 years for numerous companies nationwide. His love of business prompted him to start his own commercial title company, Rininger Exams in the nineties.
A devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, Gary was a sports enthusiast enjoying numerous others sports, however, his personal favorite sport was golf. He played on the Sugar Bush Scratch Gold League at Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garretsville, OH for many years. Gary enjoyed spending evenings playing cards with friends when the opportunity arose.
Gary loved spending time with his family and friends and the time spent with all of his furry golden retriever friends and his BFF (Burger Friend Forever), Nikolai, always brought a smile to his face. Gary was a friend to many and his sense of humor, sweet smile, humility and kind and generous heart will be sincerely missed, but he will remain in the hearts of his loved ones always.
Survivors include brother, Donald (Jane) Rininger of Dunnellon, FL; sisters, Carol (Craig) Datz of Alliance, Janice Raber and Jeanne Rininger, both of Louisville; nieces, Tam Rininger of Louisville, Heidi (Nick) Verna of Canton; nephews, Kevin (Sharon) Datz and Bradley Datz both of Alliance and Steve Rininger of Chicago, IL; three great-nieces; four great-nephews; one great-great nephew; one great-great niece; and lifelong friends, Jim McCready and Dave Pike.
Preceding him in death were his parents; maternal grandparents, Pearl and Joseph Shoop; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Elta Mae Rininger; nephew, David Rininger; and brother-in-law, Bruce Raber.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Charitable donations can be made to Beechwood Playground, 2270 Beechwood Avenue, Alliance, OH and the Stark County Humane Society.
