Gary M. Simmons

Gary M. Simmons, age 64, of North Benton, Ohio, passed away at 5:18 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Aultman Hospital.
He was born November 6, 1952, in Alliance, Ohio, to Frank Raymond and Lucy Ellen (Mobley) Simmons.
Gary was a 1972 graduate from West Branch High School and employed as a butcher for Nemenz and Superior Meats before being employed by Sancap Abrasives as a machine operator.
He loved fishing, hunting and riding horses, sitting on the porch and visiting with neighbors, attending the Jamestown Fire Department Gun Raffle and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Leora (Greeneisen) Simmons, whom he married December 8, 1972; his son, Frank Mitchell (Jessica) Simmons of Alliance; daughter, Kathy Jo (Jamey) Russell of Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Chris, Zach, Ema, Josh, Lizzy and Jillian; six brothers, Ralph (Judith Ann) Simmons of Canton, Ross Simmons of Alliance, Bill (Margie) Simmons of North Benton, David (Ruth) Simmons of Louisville, Ohio, Alan Simmons of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lloyd (Shirley) Simmons of Clarksville, Tennessee; three sisters, Bettye Simmons, of Columbus, Ohio, Nancy Menges of Louisville, Ohio, and Kathy (Rick) Sacco of Canton; three sisters in law, Eva (Lanny) Light, Tina Totten, Kay (Raymond) Summers; brother in law, Robert Greeneisen; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Daniel and Charles.
Services will be held at a later date.
