It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of a truly loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gary Dale Stanley Sr., age 78, passed away on February 25, 2025 after a six and a half month battle with heart disease and cancer.
He was born on July 1, 1946, to Raymond and Virginia Stanley.
Gary owned his own business, Stanley Painting for over 40 years. He sponsored a bowling league and many other teams over the years. Gary enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing golf and cards, family gatherings, including Friday night fires and winters in Florida. He also enjoyed going to his grandkids and great-grandkids sporting events to cheer them on.
Some of Gary’s greatest accomplishments were a hole-in-one and bowling a 300 game.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Carol; four children, Gary Stanley III, Donald (Jessica) Stanley, Candance Stanley, and Joyce (Rob) Bailey; three step-children who he considered his, Paula (Jim) Bondoni, Justin Summers, and Aaron (Jill) Summers; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Keith (Sheila) Stanley; sisters-in-law, Diana Simmons, Sharon Haslam, Tina Fox, and Lisa Palmer; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Marilyn) Fox; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one son; and a great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors who provided care to Gary over the last several months.
