Gayle A. Thompson

Gayle A. Thompson (Vought), age 76, of North Canton, Ohio passed away at Mercy Medical Center on January 18, 2021.

She was born on October 21, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to Lester A. Vought and Hazel V. Hay.

Gayle graduated from Shaw High School in East Cleveland. She retired after many years of service with Ohio Employment Services and then continued as treasurer of the Portage County Chapter OSCEA. Gayle was a faithful member of Easton Chapel United Methodist Church for over 35 years and served many positions including trustee, administrative board UMW president and Annual Conference Representative. She loved her family and church. She also enjoyed music, ceramics and spending time with her pets, especially Muffin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis (Jennifer) Clem; daughter, Virginia (Dennis) Martin; grandchildren, Rachel Boyes, Dennis Clem III, Wendy Boyes, Andrew Clem, Aaron Boyes, Elizabeth (Andrew) Jordan and Molly Boyes; and  sister-in-law, Carol Vought.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Lester Jr. and Glenn.

A celebration of life will be held on April 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Easton Chapel United Methodist Church
